CELEBRATING UNIQUE AND INSPIRING British style and those who own it, author Violet Naylor-Leyland grants us privileged access to the private realms of well-known British creatives in this irresistibly charming book.
From Zandra Rhodes to Alice Temperley, Lulu Guinness, Beata Heuman, Susie Lau, and Luke Edward Hall—this book offers a tour through the homes, wardrobes, dressing tables, and narratives of some of Britain’s most remarkable contemporary talents, revealing how personal style colours the home with a sense of history, autobiography, and, above all else, a touch of magic.

In profiles of friends and family—from society figures, fashion and creative folk, to a few wonderful lesser-knowns— the emphasis is on signature style, represented not only by fashion but by interiors, personal collections, and examples of their work. Photographer Andrew Farrar’s portraits and interiors, paired with the author’s one-off eye for beauty and curiosity, creates imagery that captivates. In candid interviews, Naylor-Leyland shares how her subjects’ individual stories and life-courses have cultivated one-of-a-kind wardrobes, extraordinary spaces, and unique ways of living, working, and entertaining. This is the perfect book for lovers of interior design, fashion, and the distinctly British way of life.

A Thousand LIttle Things by Boden & You, 2011

In this witty book on Britishness published by Boden contributed to by A. A Gill, Giles Coren, Nicky Haslam, Rachel Johnson & Quentin Letts, among others, Violet wrote a tongue-in-cheek guide to globe trotting in the chapter: 'Keep Your Cool: A Girl's Guide to Travel'. It includes ways to avoid swearing at your host or picking a fight with a waiter and when appropriate to tip a traffic officer. She is also appears in the 'Forgive me Father Johnnie for i have sinned' page... but can you guess which one is her admission...
